Among its many programs and initiatives, Chinmaya Mission created Upanishad Ganga, a television series with 52 episodes that appeared on India’s national network, Doordarshan. The series was developed by Swami Tejomayananda, who leads Chinmaya Mission, in order to share the wisdom of India's spiritual texts, the Upanishads, with the masses. Produced by the Central Chinmaya Mission Trust’s creative department, the series explores more than 5,000 years of Indian heritage, culture, and philosophy.
According to Chinmaya Mission’s website, Upanishad Ganga offers universal knowledge that is significant to people of all ages, at all times. The series, which was directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, aired its final episode in 2013, although episodes continue to rerun in India to inspire enlightenment and transformation.
