Chinmaya Vijaya is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that operates under the Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD). Committed to providing shelter, food, medical care, and education to girls aged 4 to 11, the center is capable of caring for up to 160 girls at a time.
In an effort to instill cultural values in its residents, the orphanage relies on the wisdom of senior citizens who live on campus in six specially constructed cottages. The seniors provide education and guidance in the areas of character, culture, and ethics; in return, the children assist the seniors with aspects of daily life.
