Each year, the Radiology Department at Hurley Medical Center performs more than 125,000 procedures, including 3,500 interventional procedures. The department staffs the top neuroradiologists in the country as well as two on-site certified pediatric radiologists. Utilizing the latest technologies to provide a full range of diagnostic radiology services, the radiology team has access to a 64-slice Siemens CT scanner and an Optima MR450w magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system to treat patients.
Created by GE Healthcare, the Optima MR450w is considered a workhorse system that can be employed for all size practices and specialties. With a wide bore diameter of 70 centimeters, the equipment has the capability to accommodate larger patients and gives medical professionals a better view to analyze procedures. The Optima MR450w also features the OpTix digital RF system that improves signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), high fidelity gradients, and acoustic reduction technology.
